Effective June 14, 2026The whole policy
Mug is a free download from the Microsoft Store. The only thing you ever pay for is the in-app upgrade, and that purchase runs through Stripe. If you bought the upgrade and you're not happy, ask for a refund within 60 days of your purchase and you'll get your money back in full. You don't have to tell us why. That's it. The rest of this page is just the how.
The window
Sixty days from the date you bought the upgrade. Within that window, a full refund of what you paid, no reason required. We'd love to hear what didn't work so we can fix it, but you're under no obligation to say a word.
Who you actually paid
Stripe is our merchant of record. That means Stripe processes the payment, handles the tax, and is the name on the charge. On your statement the line item shows up as Stripe (or "Mug" via Stripe), not Microsoft — the Store hands you the free app, and the upgrade is billed by Stripe inside it. Stripe's standard policy gives you a 60-day return window, which is exactly the window we honor.
How to ask
Your receipt from Stripe will have details to request a refund. If you can't find your receipt, you can email us and we'll confirm and send the refund back through Stripe to the same card or account you paid with. Most go out the same day; give it a few business days to land.
Bought through the Microsoft Store by mistake?
The Store download is free, so there's nothing there to refund — every charge for Mug comes from Stripe. If you ever see a Microsoft charge you think is for Mug, send it to us and we'll help you sort out where it really came from.
After sixty days
The policy is sixty days, but we're not robots. If something genuinely went wrong, write to us and explain. We can't promise a refund past the window, but we read every message and we're reasonable people who also dislike being unhappy.

Mug is made by Zum, LLC in Salt Lake City, Utah. Payments are processed by Stripe as merchant of record. This policy sits alongside our terms and doesn't override consumer-protection rights you have where you live... assuming you're lucky enough to live somewhere with consumer rights.
